FemF Presents: #ShareYourGenderStory. A presentation about women and gender in the Arab World by Besan Jaber.
21.10.2017 at 13.30-14.45 FemF, Juhlasali.
The presentation proposes a project #ShareYourGenderStory. How do women in the Arab World negotiate their identities? The project’s aim is to reflect gender stories in the Arab World connected to these negotiations.
”When feminism is a lense through which we can examine society and culture, this project highlights individual stories that reflect gender inequalities. These stories, all together, form angles that capture the complex realities of gender in Arab society. This project is a collection of short interviews of different people sharing their stories of struggle and strategies of survival within their societies, and a presentation explains in further detail how these stories connect the dots of the bigger picture.”
Besan Jaber is a Jordanian feminist, researcher and activist and holds a Master’s degree in globalization and gender.
